Newborn foals do not yet have their own antibodies to protect them against infections. These are only produced in sufficient quantities after approximately 3 to 5 weeks. Until then, the foal relies on antibodies obtained from colostrum (first milk).
If the mare produces no colostrum or an insufficient amount, it is essential to act quickly. Antibodies can only pass through the intestinal wall during the first day after birth. Absorption is very effective during the first 12 hours, but after 24 hours the foal can absorb very few antibodies.
Pavo Colostrum has been specially developed to provide support in situations where a foal does not receive enough colostrum from its dam.

Koostumus: ternimaito. Analyyttinen koostumus: Raakaproteiini: 50 % Raakarasva 2 % Raakakuitu 0 % Raakatuhka 3 % Natrium 0,1 %.
Käyttöohje:
Jos varsa kieltäytyy ottamasta ternimaitoa, voit houkutella ruokahalua ripottelemalla hiukan sokeria varsan kielelle. Älä pakota varsaa juomaan taivuttamalla sen päätä taaksepäin. Silloin varsa ei pysty nielaisemaan kunnolla ja maito saattaa päätyä keuhkoihin. Anna ternimaitoa enintään 500 ml tunnissa. Liian suuri määrä saattaa aiheuttaa häiriöitä suolistossa. Ole tarkka hygieniasta. Valmista maito puhtain käsin ja huuhtele tutti, pullo ja juottomukit huolella käytön jälkeen.
